Apprenticeship Scheme
Cooney Marine Training Academy
We realised there is a shortage of highly skilled marine engineers, so we set up our training academy, new Cooney apprentices join the company every year, this enables us to continue to bring on experienced engineers, and also help the local community.
Our training staff have years of training experience, and our senior Manager used to train apprentices and engineering companies country wide.
Accreditation
We are EAL (awarding body) accredited, EAL are the experts in training and teaching Engineering apprenticeships in the U.K. We are one of the very few companies to be accredited by EAL with their own training academy in the U.K.
We can offer Cooney Marine Apprenticeships in the following areas:

Welding and fabrication levels 2 and 3

CNC advanced machining

Performing Engineering operations level 2

NVQ certificates in Inert gas and manual metal arc welding

CNC mechanical manufacturing

Performing engineering operations

We also offer weld training to other companies, specialising in Tig and Mig welding in high-quality Stainless steel.

Assistant Laser Supervisor
Cooney marline are currently looking for an Assistant Laser supervisor with at least 3 years experience of a CNC laser. Wage up to £13 an hour for the correct candidate.

Cooney Marine are looking for 2 semi skilled stainless steel polishers, experience an advantage although full training will be given, up to £15 per hour for successful candidates

We are looking for new apprentices to join our successful team at Cooney marine, you will be trained in Tig welding and fabrication to a high degree, and the successful candidates can gain advanced welding certificates, e mail Kieran.mcdonnell@cooneymarine.co.uk
Machining Apprentice
Cooney marine are looking for a dynamic apprentice to join their esteemed machine shop.
The successful candidate will be trained how to use CNC milling and machining centres.
Advanced engineering qualifications can be earned through the companies apprenticeship programme.

We are pleased to announce that Jack Ison has now joined the many fully trained fabricator welders at Cooney marine, Here Jack is being presented with his advanced certificates by training Manager Kieran McDonnell.
